THE RECORD COMPANY FOR WORLD MUSIC AND TRADITIONAL MUSIC FROM NORWAY

Etnisk Musikklubb is an independent label available for distribution and licensing world wide. Featuring recordings by prize-winning Norwegian performers and multicultural artists of international stature, our production has a common profile with the world’s ethnic repertoire. This adds variation to the World Music repertoire from an area of the world still considered “undiscovered” by many music lovers. We are currently expanding our business by exporting the EM label and seek reliable new partners for world distribution.

*Etnisk Musikklubb makes modern and timeless documentation of the intangible cultaral heritage of ethnic and folk traditions of the Nordic countries.
*We create unique album with proficient performers with personal musical colors and nuances.
*We design album that are both attractive and esthetic
*We create poductions of cultural heritage through illustrated booklets with texts in several languages.
*We says that local music is global music and will export it to the world!

This band doesn’t have the need to proof something, no urge to sound different, this is Norwegian / English / French folk music in a pure way, solid as a rock and sounding great. I absolutely love the opening track, nicely sung in a fragile way. You hear the craftsmanship of the musicians, without any false pretentions they play their music and it sounds like acoustic folk should sound. The mix of vocals and instrumentals makes the songs really come alive with Scandinavian charm and amazement. The fourteen tracks are rich with folk traditions and sweet melodies that are crystal clear and pure. The floating vocals and pensive instrumentation makes Tritulen shimmer with icy-smooth executions. The lack of electric embellishments does not necessarily make the music lackluster. In fact, the cozy nature of the intimate melodies and notes are perfect enough for packing large stadiums or a house filled with family members sitting around a roaring fireplace in the dead of winter. Fans of Scandinavian folk music will find Tritulen a perfect companion in times of musical yearning. ~ Matthew Forss The mix of vocals and instrumentals makes the songs really come alive with Scandinavian charm and amazement. Bandet til Mazuze er internasjonalt sammensatt. Det kan nesten høres ut som det har vært med å gi uttrykket ekstra temperatur. I enkelte av de elleve låtene er trøkket helt enormt. With Komme no heim he publishes his first solo album. Twenty-eight traditional songs, sung according to the Kveding tradition. His warm voice is a pleasure to listen to and the combination of solo vocals and songs in which he is backed by traditional Norwegian instruments such as the hardingfele, langeleik and others, is really well done. I also like the short instrumental interludes which make of this first solo album a well balanced, strong sounding CD with beautiful, intimate music.
